Cookbook News
Well, first, book news: the anthology known as Adventure Stories for Young Readers is complete, and the editor has turned it over to me, as publisher. The current plan is to have it live, and in your ereaders or hands of young readers, September first. Cover reveal will be happening before too long.
The cookbook, on the other hand, is going to take a bit longer. I'm about to start working with illustrations for it. This is not going to be a full-color lavishly illustrated sort of book. This is going to be more reminiscent of how I designed the Inktail coloring books. You'll be prompted to make notes, there will be pages for jotting down your own recipe variations. Some recipes will be more like formulas (and I'll explain that more in time). I plan for it to be on plain paper which can be easily written on, and that means coated photo paper pages are Right Out. Which also reduces the cost to you, dear readers, considerable.
While illustrations of the line-art whimsical variety are in the works, I'd love some feedback from you. What recipes or formulations (hah!) would you like to see in this book? I will not be including the Eat This While You Read That series, as the round of permissions to publish such a thing would be a nightmarish headache in terms of time and trying to figure out just how to make it work. This will be my recipes, collected in over a decade on this blog and in my lab notebook... er, kitchen records.
And now, I shall sip more coffee, hoping the headache I'm nursing is caffeine deprivation, and then contemplate the workweek. I did have a lovely sedate adventure, the most excitement being driving through heavy rain, but that was mercifully brief. It was a good thing, all around, I think. I know it was for me.
