Curmudgeon's Corner
This is a guest post by my First Reader, referencing a social phenomenon that has been making him a wee bit grouchy recently. If you'd like to learn more about what an SJW is, and what it does, I'd suggest looking here.
There's just something about a man in Noir…
Curmudgeon’s Corner
Authors write books; it's what they do. Scientists land spaceships on comets; it's what they do. Social Justice Warriors screw up wet dreams; it's what they do. Unfortunately the first two are not as good at what they do as the last one. Authors have been around for millennia and have written countless books, no one pays them any attention. Scientists have managed to land one measly rocket on a comet. Social Justice Warriors on the other hand are there to do their best to ruin any book premier that doesn't fit their agenda, judging from the formulaic crap being passed out by the major publishers. The SJWs are doing pretty good at screwing up the dreams of authors and the reading public. And when the scientists made a landing on a comet, a SJW was there to tell them they were worthless because they weren't fashionable enough. They did such a good job they made the poor man cry. This is what they are good at, making people feel bad. They do it in all walks of life. From the poor guy in college who thinks it is wonderful that a beautiful co-ed came into his room and crawled into his bed (right up ‘til she charges him with rape because she was unhappy with something), to the poor guy who thinks Lady is a term of approval. From the guy who now discovers that saying hello to a woman is now harassment to the people who find out that climbing the stairs to go to work is "ableist". There is no known case where a Social Justice Warrior has done something good for the world or their fellow man. They destroy because it is in their self-centered natures to do so. They aren't even responsible enough to do it because they think it's right, they do it because they want to hang out with the people they have been told are cool. A man might be able to respect a SJW if they were doing it because they were honestly thinking they were doing "the right thing" He might be able to respect them if they were doing evil intentionally. It is the fact that they do evil without knowing or caring, so long as it gives them, "the feels". The only way to fight SJWs is to ignore them and do well at what you do. Here are a few dreams from some authors who haven't given up. RESISTANCE IS NOT FUTILE. (It's voltage divided by current.)
Duty from Ashes
by Sam Schall Duty calls. Honor demands action. Major Ashlyn Shaw has survived false accusations and a brutal military prison. Now free, she finds her homeworld once again at war with an enemy that will stop at nothing to destroy everything she holds dear. Duty has Ashlyn once again answering the call to serve. She has seen what the enemy is capable of and will do everything she can to prevent it from happening to the home she loves and the people she took an oath to protect. Vampire Music by Julia Blaine Vampire Gregory Weston loves the tinge of printer's ink that flavors the blood of those who work with books; printers, publishers, editors and librarians are among his favorite sources of nourishment. Bored and lazy, seeking amusements to fill his endless existence, he has given up his unceasing quest to become human again -- until accidentally, he employs Nia, a pregnant librarian. With child? Gregory has never experienced this situation. What a diversion for dispassionate scientific study! That she is beautiful has nothing to do with it. The Scent of Metal by Sabrina Chase Something's hiding under the ice of Pluto, and computer wizard Lea Santorin manages to wake it up--and it continues its long-interrupted journey across the galaxy, taking her with it. And strange abilities also wake in Lea... What waits at the final destination, and will she survive the meeting? An Unproven Concept by James Young Throw Robotech, Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica in a blender. Add a dash of George R.R. Martin's "Ye Olde Character Treatment." Blend thoroughly for over 300 pages, produces 20+ servings of mayhem.
Acts of War by James Young Hitler is dead. London is burning. Churchill has lost a vote of no confidence. Acts of War tells the story of a very different World War II, in which Allied victory is far from certain and a generation must be even "Greater" than they were before.
