Dragons and Quilts
Honestly, that's a story prompt right there! A dragon that hoards quilts? A wee baby dragon with it's head too big for it's body wrapped up in a baby quilt? A quilted vest for a dragon visiting the Ice Dragons?
I digress. Really, there's already a book I'd like for you to read. And buying it does one of my favorite authors and people a good turn.
Save the Dragons by Dave Freer was originally written as part of a fundraiser because Dave, like me, believes in earning his way through life rather than asking for handouts. He's in a bit of a pickle once again, so the book has been launched in public. I'm asking not only that you pick up a copy (you won't regret it!) but that you then share the book widely so other people can find it, as well.
The quilt comes in for a young lady who has a difficult medical condition, and insurance has decided they aren't going to cover a very needed surgery. So her family and community stepped up to bat, and when I found out about it I asked for a link so I could share the word. It's a lovely quilt, but really, like with Dave, it's a way to be charitable without making the folks who need help feel like they have nothing to give in return. I respect that.
