Drawing Prompts
Having achieved Inktober completness - there's no winning, in Inktober, just learning and setting daily habits and indulging in a favorite pastime - I was missing the little spark of creativity in my mornings the daily prompt had given me. So I said something in part jest on social media, and my dear friends gave me prompts. Thank you. I can't really express what this means, that you took the time to do this for me, and also how much it helps me to have the spark I can blow into a creative flame. It's not Dumbo's magic feather - I am well aware I can come up with my own drawing ideas and often will take a day off from the prompts to do so. But on days when I am tired, stressed, or braindead (or all three) this will be a lifesaver.
I took the ideas given me both on and offline, and put them through a random list generator (I linked to it and the city maps over at Mad Genius Club this morning, but if you just want the list generator click here). Then I took the output, and put it into two columns of a spreadsheet to generate slightly more complex but still weird prompts. Today, for example, was Sigh, Smell. Which the First Reader immediately described to me, and I drew. He's not always part of the art, but it's fun when something like this becomes more of a collaboration. Also, I know it's not very detailed. I have a LOT of other stuff to be done today, including writing. Plus *mumbles*housework*mumbles*
If you, like me, sometimes need that little creative kick in the pants, check out the list I will be working from. My thanks to Matt Crowe for all the effort he put into word generation! Also, I am on Instagram with the art, I'm @cedarlili and if you search #cedarlili you'll see most of my art. If you want to see all the Inktober drawings, check this out!
Poor mousie. Inktail needs to see a dentist!
