Early Cell Division: Art
Sometimes I find things deep in the fractal universes that set my mind wandering down other paths. Like this one, which made me think about the patterns of early cell division in a developing embryo. I started to think about deuterostomes, and cell spirals, and the membranes that both divide and bind cell walls until we grow up to be...
something. Maybe not human. Maybe it's a starfish. Or an alien. But we all start out as the union of two cells. Unless it is parthenogenesis, of course.
And the original version of this piece before I started playing with post-processing... It's kind of neat to see what you can do with art when you start treating it like a photo and messing with colors, saturation, and borders.
Still, I like the massive amount of detail in Early Cell Division straight from the render.
