Just one quick comment. If you are going to travel with your phone location off, or better yet in a Faraday bag since you really don't know which of your helpful apps turn on location services behind your back: be consistent. That mook who killed the college students in the rental house in Idaho stood out like a sore thumb because the only time he had geotagging off was in the vicinity of the crime.

this has been a wonderful read for me and I came to it obliquely - my experience with forensics was what now is called a debate club. The idea that somebody stood up in a forum and debated evidence of something or another to expose truth or at least what they thought of as truth is what I think of every time I hear the word. It wasn't until I watched Quincy as a young man that the word had any different meaning to me and it's always going to be one of those words for me.

The lovely and talented LB Johnson commented to me many years ago that TV forensics always seem to include test tubes in a centrifuge. because apparently the way at getting to the truth involved spinning things very quickly. I guess My washing machine probably understands all too well that my underwear can be a crime scene.

thanks for resurrecting these posts.
