I wake my 2 dogs up between midnight and 1 A.M. to feed them hot dogs and big doggie bone treat. Then I go to be bed and read for a few hours. They allow me to sleep in as long as I want. This is a training regimen that works for me. Might vary with your dog and employment schedule.
