Odd Prompts: Stylized Work
The prompt was "
There were rows and rows of monks standing, watching…
It didn't fit in any way into the WIP, so rather than starting something new, while I'm under a deadline, I decided I'd feed the prompt into Midjourney, and see how many ways I could stylize the results by tweaking the prompts. Midjourney AI doesn't draw from existing art, but it has been trained on styles of many (but by no means all... it doesn't recognize Fidelia Bridges, for instance) artists. What I like to do is to pair unlikely artists, or someone who isn't an artist at all, but who did inspire an aesthetic, and see what I can get.
Prompt: "There were rows and rows of monks standing, watching…, style of lovecraft"
Lovecraft himself wasn't an artist. However, generations of artists have been inspired by him, so the AI tool recognized what I wanted from it.
Prompt: There were rows and rows of monks standing, watching…, style of lisa frank and frank frazetta --ar 3:2 --stylize 500"
This was just me being silly with two styles that are as far apart as they can be. It does result in some fun, if bizarre, art.
Prompt: "There were rows and rows of monks standing, watching…, style of norman rockwell and Andrew Wyeth --ar 3:2"
These two artists aren't so wildly disparate in their styles, but I wanted to see what the subject matter - not something either would have painted - would be executed. I liked how I got Wyeth's color palette.
