What follows is a rollicking fantasy adventure. If you have ever wondered what literary cocktail would result from a mix of Mercedes Lackey’s Bardic Voices novels, Larry Corriea’s Monster Hunter tales, the detective novels of Dashiell Hammett, and just a dash of Georgette Heyer, read “Pixie Noir.” The result is delightful.
Cedar Sanderson is a new voice in science-fiction and fantasy, one worth watching. This is only her second novel, but she possesses impressive talent.
“Pixie Noir” deftly blends Edmund Spencer and Mickey Spillane in a funny and entertaining tale. Mark Lardas, an engineer, freelance writer, amateur historian and model-maker, lives in League City. His website is marklardas.com.
