Planning ahead
I have a little art project in mind for the first 100 days of 2023. I'd run across the idea through an artist friend, so it's hardly original. But it looks like a lot of fun, and after nearly all of 2022 was focused on black and white line art, and digital, to boot, I'm ready for color and traditional media.
What could be more colorful than Pantone chips, right?
I've secured a set of 100 Pantone Postcards, and some clear gesso to prep them for paint. I plan to use my Gansai Tambi paints, as they near goache in opacity, without having me need to buy yet another art supply (even with the move, I have... a lot). I'll also be using inks. If there's interest, I'll likely sell originals but I won't plan to make up prints of these.
2023 should be an interesting year. There are some significant milestones in it. The Little Man will turn 18 midway through the year. The First Reader and I will celebrate our tenth anniversary. We'll have been in the Crooked House here in tiny town Texas for a full year. I have many plans for the coming year, and who knows? Some of them might even come to fruition.
I'm toying with the idea of a narrower theme than just 'color' for the Pantone paintings. Perhaps nature, or fungi, cats or.... What say you, my dear readers?
