State of the Writer: Drained
I haven't been writing. I need to be editing, I haven't been doing that, either. I've just been tired. Which is ok. I'm not beating myself up over this. Yes, I wanted to be writing every day this year. But writing is on the back burner for the duration, so I refuse to set myself up for a guilt trip and then fall flat on my face.
Really, what I need to do is get back in the habit of daily writing. Um. This weekend. heh. I'm very grateful for my daily accountability group (it's on FB. If you're interested, let me know) because that keeps me going on the art, and doesn't judge when I'm not writing. Gentle support, with a side of reminder.
The other thing I absolutely must do is finish Possum Creek Massacre. I need to do some re-writing, nothing huge, and send it off to my editor. And then I need to create a better cover. The placeholder is meh at best. I can do exploding spaceship covers at the drop of a hat. Paranormal Thriller is a tad different and needs more attention than I gave it. Also, this weekend.
In the meantime... I have a short story that needs a rewrite, and submission. I have a short story that needs completion, and submission. The First Reader infected me with a story idea last night (his way of getting me writing again is to Evil Muse at me) that I will try to do justice to. I'm not sure I can... but it's a fun concept. And I have to get back into Ten Pigeons. That story is teasing my brain and ready to flow, I hope.
So that's the report! I'm hoping next week I'll have actual wordcount.
