My hubby likes Hawaiian black salt, or Mediterranean black salt, both of which are sea salts combined with charcoal. I like Pink. Iodized is too bitter for me. LOVE salt on watermelon or cantaloupe. Sea salt is good.
I haven't tried a black salt, I'll have to see if I can find it local. I liked the grey salt and will likely acquire more of it when I use this packet up.
I keep “Real Salt” on the table though it rarely gets used because I know how my wife likes food so I generally nail the seasoning. Can’t say I taste any difference but it’s USA sourced and creates a conversation with guests. Bazillion minerals what not.

When using a salt shaker I always shake into my hand which allows me to better regulate the quantity I am using.
Always a good plan especially when it's a shaker you haven't used before.
anyone who says "salt is salt" should actually splurge and get one of these https://www.amazon.com/Salt-Journey-8-pack-Collection-Eat-Art/dp/B086WR16R2/ref=sr_1_15?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.XoJxHTVXiGmhQQaaOsTe0YPKRfFy8qfGPaarsMNdrKV7eg7OMDd1WTD-t3vxFq7ClJqANROL7EGHW1rVeMYUoVYiN5HwDEe2mideT55FOycn47_5Ojn4uJgCH4F1rNMPt8_UzJybrut6cfLTgRusLBf0jK4yMo_4HvUAGUJnGCRFw9haqD-FfaCeQGE_quOBYGCzgLpRQfwMD5EFdrhyJPzv3AWpj8aOuD3m6JE-evDMs7ZpflF3gh4ivl8ciCKCKxrry3OFhRFRrMVodA40j-D2cXbblZjN6SXHWxn7XhM.aq77cKIhRm2O2AlEYHsNCCZ4PDW7sJmUBRpGsdt70Do&dib_tag=se&keywords=gourmet+salt+sampler&qid=1734050396&sr=8-15 or something similar. We won one, or got one for Christmas or something a few years ago, and there are some very different salts there. From an Indian one that is quite sulfury (and I still haven't found much use for) to ones that are "saltier" per grain than I've ever seen... lots of varieties, and this isn't even the "herbed" stuff.
Oh that is neat! Thank you!
I needed a consumable gift for a Christmas party, thanks for the tip I am taking a sea salt sampler from Amazon.
Himalayan pink, French gray… such a delightful read on salt, our essential spice!
