I am being stubborn.
This morning, as we shared our morning ritual of coffee, I opened the door on today’s spice from the calendar, and showed it to my husband.
“Pizza!” He exclaimed.
“Just what I thought when I saw it. I’ll have to work it into dinner plans, though.”
He was prophetic, if neither of us like how it happened. I started with migraine symptoms, which worsened to the point where I asked him to get pizza, so I could at least do this blog.
We both associate the red pepper flakes with pizza joints, their tables boasting those and a shaker of ground parmesan. As we compared notes, we realized neither of us really use them for anything else.
So. As I really can’t write much more (my eyes aren’t focusing properly and I want to take my glasses off), what would you use red pepper flakes for?
And what are your favorite pizza toppings?
(Good luck whipping the migraine.)
From the spice category, my favorite pizza topping is oregano. Unfortunately it seems fewer and fewer pizza parlors are using it. The few that still do, it's per request. Non spice toppings I like green peppers and mushrooms for vegetables...Maui onions if available. Sweet Italian sausage for meat.
